Brandon Sewell

The Cartersville Police Department has released details of an arrest we reported on-the-air last week.

Officers observed a white male, later identified as Mr. Brandon Sewell, in an area of a closed business wearing dark clothing at 3:00 a.m. on August 16th. The officers attempted to make contact with Mr. Sewell, who fled on bicycle, then ran, and was found to be hiding in a thick patch of kudzu.

The officers recovered the stolen bicycle and placed Mr. Sewell under arrest. The investigations division was able to identify that this subject was involved with multiple other thefts within the city, closing several other cases. Through inter-jurisdictional contacts, other departments were able to possibly link Mr. Sewell to other theft related cases.

The Cartersville Police Department has charged Brandon Sewell with two counts of shoplifting, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug related objects, resisting arrest, loitering and prowling, and possession of criminal tools.
