As of 6:30 Tuesday night, the Georgia Department of Public Health has reported 9,156 COVID-19 Confirmed Cases statewide, 191 of those in Bartow County. Bartow has plummeted to tenth in total cases behind Fulton, Dougherty, DeKalb, Cobb, Gwinnett, Clayton, Hall, Henry, and Lee counties.

Out of the state’s total, 20.74 percent have been hospitalized and 3.8 percent have died. Bartow County’s death toll is at 12.

Cartersville City Schools was notified on Monday that an employee of Cartersville Middle School has been diagnosed with COVID-19. The staff member, who became sick following the time schools were closed, has not been in physical contact with students or other staff members in the past 22 days.
