Several local agencies have been called to look for a local man. Family members of Scott Salter alerted law enforcement when he failed to show up for work Monday morning. Salter is a teacher at Cass High School. His car was found at the entrance of Cooper’s Furnace trail but no one has been able to locate him. The Department of Natural Resources, the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers are searching off trail; Salter likes to hike away from the trails. Anyone with information is asked to contact 911.
