During the White City Council meeting on Monday night, WBHF learned that White Chief of Police Dane Hunter resigned from his position on December 26th. Here is the pdf of his resignation letter (20190108082118225)

We have reached out to Mayor Kim Billue for comment.

After an executive session, the city council appointed Sergeant Chris Barnes as the new Chief of Police. Barnes was serving as the interim chief since December 26th.

Chief Barnes has been with the White Police Department for about eight months. Barnes was previously employed by the City of Emerson Police Department for about six years.

Barnes stated that the city of White will be seeking one additional full-time officer and one part-time officer.
