Weather permitting, on Tuesday, April 21st,  the City of Cartersville Water Department will be relocating two large diameter, critical water mains for the Georgia Department of Transportation road project at the HWY 41/411 interchange.  This work will take approximately 24 hours to complete.  During that time, businesses and residents may experience discolored water, and lower than normal water pressure and flow.  On Wednesday, April 22nd, The City Water Department will begin restoring normal service by flushing lines and opening valves.  This activity may also cause periods of significantly discolored water for some time.  Please plan accordingly and do not wash clothes of light colored fabrics during this time.  Following this procedure your water lines may need flushed for ten to fifteen minutes to clear the water.  If you are still experiencing problems after flushing your lines, or if have any questions regarding this project, please notify the Water Department at 770-387-5657 or 770-387-5607.  We appreciate your patience with this procedure and apologize for any inconvenience it may cause.
