Tomorrow (Wednesday) the Cartersville Water Department will be manipulating valves in preparation for a 36 inch tie in at the new Kroger development. This manipulation may cause discolored water in the Cartersville service area. Water Department officials are asking patrons to plan accordingly. Do not wash light colored linens or clothing as they will stain. You may also want to draw a vessel of drinking water if you rely solely on tap water for hydration. The water is safe to use, it is just not of the same clarity that customers are accustomed to receiving. Officials area making every effort to lessen the severity of the red water but cannot predict the duration of the severity.
