The Cartersville Purple Hurricanes (8-1, 6-0) shutout the LaFayette Ramblers (2-7, 0-6) on Friday night by a score of 55-0. The Canes defense got the scoring started with an interception return on the Ramblers’ first drive. Tyler Reed and Jahir Camps both had interceptions returned for touchdowns in the game, with Reed’s coming as the first score. The Cartersville offense did not suffer much in terms of penalties, despite a holding call which called back a touchdown in the fourth quarter. The Canes will play Pickens next Friday at Weinman stadium at 7:30, a game that will decide the winner of this sub-region.
