A Calhoun man leads Bartow Deputies on a high-speed chase.  According to Bartow County Sheriff’s Office reports, around 1:30 Sunday, November 24th, deputies were dispatched to the Dollar Tree at Marketplace Boulevard in an attempt to locate a wanted person.  Forty-five-year-old Terrance Lee Culberson had multiple active felony warrants and was traveling in a White Dodge Charger.  As deputies approached the Charger, Culberson backed from his parking space.  He reportedly left the parking lot at a high rate of speed.  Deputies engaged active emergency lights and pursued Culberson through the parking lot and onto Market Place Boulevard.  Culberson reportedly fled turning onto Highway 20 in the direction of Highway 411.  He continued onto Peeples Valley Road at speeds in excess of 70 miles per hour in a 45-mile-per-hour zone.    As Culberson attempted to flee, a motorist driving a Subaru Cross Trek traveling south on Peeples Valley Road turned into the northbound lanes.  The Charger struck the Subaru from the rear at a high rate of speed.  Culberson’s vehicle flipped over following the crash.  The deputy said he observed Culberson’s legs outside the overturned vehicle as he attempted to pull himself from the wreck.  The officer helped him out of the overturned car.  The officers placed him in hand restraints.  Culberson and the motorist were checked out by EMS; once medically cleared Culberson was taken to the Bartow County Jail.  The Subaru driver complained of a minor injury but was not transported to the hospital.   The patrol vehicle received slight damage from hitting a while assembly that came off Culberson’s vehicle during the accident.  Culberson was charged with misdemeanor reckless driving and felony fleeing or attempting to elude police.
