Bartow County deputies are searching for an unknown male subject after a burglary at a residence on Salacoa Creek Road near Waleska Tuesday night.

The complainant had a remote camera in the residence that picked up a white male going through the house.

A responding deputy noticed an open window at the back. Other deputies saw the man attempting to walk out the front door before retreating inside. The suspect also tried to exit the back door until he noticed a deputy.

While deputies waited for additional backup, the man pushed a screen off a window on the side of a raised back porch, jumped through the window, landed over a fence, and fell down a hill. A deputy jumped the fence, pursued the suspect, and deployed a Taser in an unsuccessful attempt to stop the suspect from fleeing. The man then fell approximately 30 to 40 feet off a rock cliff and got away by wading through the creek.

A deputy back at the house noticed the remote camera missing its memory card and batteries.

Another deputy that made it to the cliff’s bottom located a black baseball cap and green Reebok sneakers.
