The Bartow History Quiz Bowl competition among middle schools was held at the Clarence Brown Conference Center on Sunday at 2:00. This first ever event featured 8th grade students from five schools, who have studied Bartow County history using the Etowah Valley Historical Society’s website.

There was a strong turnout at Sunday’s competition. Cartersville Middle School took home 5th place, South Central Middle School took home 4th place, and Adairsville Middle School took home 3rd place. The aforementioned schools took home 100 dollars each for their history departments. Cass Middle School took 2nd place and won 250 dollars for their history department and the 1st place winner went to Woodland Middle School. The Wildcats’ history department received 500 dollars, due to their first place finish.

The Bartow History Quiz Bowl was created so that the county could involve youth in its heritage to teach county history in local schools.
