This morning, Cartersville officials closed several streets as they responded to the removal of gasoline from a new sinkhole discovered.
From South Bridge at Highway 41, South Bridge was closed all the way down to South Erwin (which was be closed down to Georgia Boulevard). South Erwin was closed going north on Erwin all the way up to Cook Street until 3:30 this afternoon.
A sinkhole was discovered last Thursday at the city’s Gas Department building in the same area.
