Georgia Adult Protective Services informed the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office of an attempted exploitation of an elder person that occurred last week.
An unknown male claiming to be a neighbor of an 81-year-old resident of Brent Circle in Cartersville accompanied the resident to Bank of America on Joe Frank Harris Parkway in Cartersville on June 12th and tried to make a withdrawal of around $9,500.
When asked the a teller why he wanted to withdraw the funds, the resident wasn’t sure. The suspect said the resident needed to buy a truck with that money.
