Jimmy Lloyd Parrott

57-year-old Jimmy Lloyd Parrott was booked into the Bartow County Jail Friday afternoon on January 13th warrants for aggravated assault, criminal trespass damage to private property, and felony fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.

It all started when a Bartow County deputy arrived at a residence on Jones Slough Road near Kingston on January 13th to assist U.S. Marshals and Paulding County deputies in an attempt to locate Parrot, who had absconded from a work detail in Paulding.

The Bartow deputy located Parrot’s Jeep Liberty behind the property concealed behind a camper. Parrot was in the driver’s seat with a female in the passenger seat. After ordering Parrot to open the door and step out, Parrot started the Liberty, accelerated at a high speed, crashed into multiple trees, and allegedly tried swerving at the deputy several times before heading towards the road.

With the assistance of a Paulding deputy, the Bartow deputy found that Parrot had pulled into a field off Euharlee Road next to Oak Grove United Methodist Church. Once on pavement, the Bartow deputy attempted a PIT maneuver, causing the Liberty to spin around and strike the patrol car head-on. Parrett drove in reverse and struck a Paulding patrol car. The Bartow deputy then attempted another PIT Maneuver, which caused the Liberty to become immobile in a ditch.

Parrott tried climbing out of his driver’s side window while fighting a Paulding deputy. The Bartow deputy struck Parrot in the chin and chest with a Taser, which caused Parrot to stop resisting.

Paulding County took custody of Parrott at that time.

Bartow County was notified after the incident that Parrott had damaged around 300 feet of fencing on property on Jones Slough Road.
