A man was airlifted to an Atlanta hospital following a two-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon.  According to reports with the Georgia state patrol, the crash occurred around 2:55 p.m.  A 1997 Ford Explorer was traveling north on GA 293 and a motorcycle was traveling south on GA 293.  The SUV attempted to turn left onto East Greenridge Road, and traveled into the path of the motorcycle.  The SUV struck the left side of motorcycle with the front of vehicle.  After impact, the motorcycle overturned, traveled off the west side of the roadway, and struck a guardrail.

Tajah Rae Jones, 18, of Acworth, was driving the SUV. She was charged with Failure to Yield While Turning Left.

Robert Craig Paine, 54, of Acworth, was operating the motorcycle. Medical officials on scene said Paine suffered major trauma to his lower extremities.  He airlifted to Grady Hospital.
