Head coach Eric Bishop surely had higher hopes for Friday night’s opener in Rossville, Georgia against the Ridgeland Panthers, but all hopes were dashed early and often. Ridgeland opened up the game with 35 unanswered points in the first half and were led by Jalyn Shelton’s three scores in the half’s action.

In the second half, Adairsville requested a continuous clock, but were able to crack the scoreboard, thanks to a 39-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Roger Redd to Chad Lowery. That’s where it would end for Adairsville. Shelton would add another score to go along with two touchdowns for Stephon Walker.

The good news for Adairsville is that the loss was a non-region loss and will not factor into their 2016 playoff scenario.

The Tigers (0-1) will play the Cass Colonels (0-0) next week for their first home game of the season and will be heard live on WBHF at 7:30 PM.
