Kim McCoy was convicted of the 2018 shooting death of her husband, James Sam McCoy last month. The shooting occurred on February 22, 2018, at the divorced couple’s Norton Road home in Kingston. Kim McCoy said she shot Sam McCoy in self-defense, claiming abuse and post-traumatic stress syndrome. McCoy was shot once in the abdomen. Judge Suzanne Smith sentenced Kim McCoy to serve life in prison plus 5 years to serve concurrently.
