Press Release GDOT
CARTERSVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Transportation announces a new traffic signal in Bartow County is scheduled to be fully operational on Tuesday, August 23, 2016. If all goes well and weather permits, the traffic signal on State Route (SR) 113 at Starbucks in the city of Carterville will be turned on.
The traffic signal, flashing in test mode for a week, is located on Highway 113 at Starbucks Point Road. Georgia DOT reviews each intersection to determine if the intersection meets the federal guidelines for the installation of a traffic signal and this intersection did.
“Once the signal is operational, please use extra caution until you get familiar with the new signal location,” said Georgia DOT District Engineer, Dewayne Comer. “Remember to watch out for other drivers until they get used to the new signal too.”
