Last month, a local jury found Tammy Lynn Murphy and Steven Mark Eller guilty of murdering 47-year-old Danny Lamar Gravely.

In March of 2013, Gravely was shot once in the back of the head at the family’s home on Dogwood Place.  His body was later found in the bed of his truck on Red Top Road.

A jury found both defendants guilty of felony murder, aggravated assault and concealing the death of another.

Eller was also found of guilty of malice murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime while Murphy was found not guilty of those charges.

Steven Mark Eller received a total sentence of Life plus Fifteen (15) years. The Court did not grant the motion filed by State prosecutor Sharon Fox, for the Court to sentence Eller to a Life sentence “without the possibility of parole”.

Tammy Lynn Murphy received a total sentence of Life plus five (5) years, The Court did not grant the motion filed by State prosecutor Sharon Fox, for the Court to sentence Murphy to a Life sentence “without the possibility of parole”.  Attorney James Wyatt stated that a Motion for New Trial would be filed on behalf of Murphy.
