Bartow County EMA Director Paul Cuprowski attended at weather briefing today at 8:00 to hear about any updates of how Tropical Storm Irma could affect Northwest Georgia. Cuprowski told WBHF that Bartow County is okay.

“We’re still hanging in there,” Cuprowski said. “We are still expecting some weather to come in a little earlier around the 4:00 PM mark. (That’s) when things may start getting a little dicey.”

Cuprowksi said that as the storm moves North, the track slows. He said that he expected the wind gusts to pick up moving forward throughout the day.

When will the storm move out?

“We’re hoping it moves out a 7 AM (Tuesday). Hopefully, the bad stuff is gone by then.”

Another briefing will be held at noon Monday.
