The Cartersville-Bartow County Convention & Visitors Bureau presented its 2015 People’s Choice Awards for the Best Attraction, Best Restaurant and Best Attraction in Bartow County.  Recipients accepted their awards on stage at the county-hosted Arts Festival at Rose Lawn. This year, almost 5,000 people voted for their favorites online at VisitCartersvilleGA.org.

For the fourth consecutive year the Booth Western Art Museum took BEST ATTRACTION honorsThe Smithsonian Affiliate Museum was recently named to Georgia Traveler’s “25 Under $25” and to The Daily Quirk’s “5 U.S. Museums to Add to Your Bucket List.” Earlier this year, the museum received a 2015 Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor. So it’s no surprise that once again, and for the sixth time in award history, the People’s Choice for Best Attraction is the Booth Western Art Museum.  Accepting is Gunslinger Jim Dunham.

Coming in just behind the Booth Museum was Tellus Science Museum, followed by Etowah Indian Mounds State Historic Site.

Another TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence honoree was voted BEST RESTAURANT.  First time winner The City Cellar & Loft in downtown Cartersville took top honors followed by previous PC favorites Johnny Mitchell’s Smokehouse and Swheat Market Deli. Owner Bob Smith says his restaurant serves up fresh food, prepared to order in a warm and inviting atmosphere. This year the people once again turned to downtown Cartersville as their favorite place to shop.  For the second consecutive year, the people have chosen jeweler Dan Kramer, and It’s About Time, as the 2015 BEST SHOP. This shop has quickly become the go-to for watches, jewelry and luxury giftware. Be sure to stop in and say “Hi!” to Pinto Bean, the official store dog. Other favorites getting the vote in downtown Cartersville were Spring Place Pottery & Artists Gallery and newcomer Love June Boutique.

            The People’s Choice Awards are presented annually by the Cartersville-Bartow County Convention & Visitors Bureau. Eligible businesses must be located within Bartow County or its municipalities, and be unique to the community. Franchise stores and restaurants are not eligible. Voting opens each June online at VisitCartersvilleGA.org, and closes August 31.
