ATLANTA- Former State Representative Jeff Lewis was re-elected to the State Transportation Board on Wednesday by a caucus of state representatives and senators from the 11th Congressional District, comprised of Bartow, Cherokee, Cobb and Fulton counties. He begins his second term on April 16, 2016. He was first elected to the board in 2011.
Lewis chairs the Board’s Intermodal Committee, and serves on the Legislative, Public Private Partnerships (P3) and Property Utilization committees.
“It is an incredible compliment and honor to be re-elected to serve on the State Transportation Board. I want to express gratitude to those legislators that supported me and allowed me the opportunity to continue to serve the State,” Lewis said. “Additionally, it means I get to work hand in hand with them and the local governments within my Congressional District on projects to ensure we meet constituents’ expectations to maintain and deliver transportation infrastructure.”
Lewis served as a state representative in the Georgia House for 16 years and chaired the Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications Committee.
