The Woodland Wildcats (3-6) fell at home to the Kell Longhorns (5-4) on Friday night with a final score of 21-12.

The Wildcats opened the game with a long drive capped off by a 3-yard Brody Williams quarterback run off the right side of the offensive line. But a botched extra point would leave the score 6-0, this would play a big role in determining the outcome of this game.
Kell responded a touchdown (and extra point) of their own when Evan Conley found Blake Simpson in the end zone to put the Longhorns ahead 7-6 with 2:45 remaining in the 1st quarter.
The two teams traded punts for during the 2nd quarter the score remained 7-6 Kell heading into the break.
The Longhorns extended their lead to 14-6 when Dre Houston scored his first of two touchdowns on the night with a run through the Wildcat defense with 6:50 remaining in the 3rd quarter
Woodland wasted no time answering the bell, Titus Jones returned the kickoff 86 yards to inside the 5 Kell yard line. Brody Williams kept the ball again on the goal line and scored his second touchdown of the night with 6:00 left in the 3rd quarter.
The 4th quarter belonged to Kell. The Longhorns figured out the Woodland offense and added to their lead with a 71-yard screen pass to Dre Houston to go ahead 21-12 with 7:11 remaining in the game.
Woodland had a last-ditch chance at making a comeback with under 2 minutes to play when Kell lined up to go for it on 4th & 6 inside their own 20-yard line. Evan Conley found his receiver Black Simpson for a completion that was enough for the 1st down. Kell went into the victory formation and ran the clock out.
Woodland (3-6) will be back in action next week with a game at Rome (9-0).
