On Saturday, May 27, 2017, Cartersville Police Department, the Cartersville Fire Department and Bartow EMS, responded to 425 Waterford Drive in reference to a possible drowning. Upon arrival, emergency personnel began performing CPR on a juvenile female. However resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. The child was transported to the Cartersville Medical Center. Through investigation, it was determined the rear door to the residence was left unlocked during the morning hours. According to witnesses, the child was last seen at approximately 1100 hours inside the residence. The child was discovered in the private pool in the backyard of the residence. The investigation is ongoing and, if there are any new developments, a news release will be generated.
