Bartow County EMS and numerous other local agencies responded to a two-vehicle accident around 3:30 AM Tuesday morning. According to Brad Cothran, Bartow County EMS public information officer, the crews arrived on the scene on I-75 Southbound at mile marker 286 and found three male patients injured. A 23-year-old male was found to have a head injury. A medical helicopter was requested. The male was stabilized by BCEMS and flown to Grady Hospital for treatment. EMS found two other males injured and treated those patients for numerous minor injuries and transported them to Cartersville Medical Center.

Due to the accident, commuters are being forced off the interstate at Exit 290. With I-75 Southbound unpassable, this has made traffic on Highway 41 congested. Commuters are encouraged to take local roads and to access I-75 again at the Glade Road Exit (278).
