CARTERSVILLE, GA., Oct. 1, 2015 – An Adairsville High School student driving to school at
7:36 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, struck a Bartow County school bus. The student driver was airlifted
by helicopter to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and the Adairsville Middle and Adairsville
High students riding the bus, all uninjured, were taken to school. No update on the student
driver’s current condition has been given.
When the students riding the involved bus arrived at school, their school nurses and school
counselors met them. Breakfast was held for the students and they were given an opportunity to
call their parents.
Superintendent Dr. John Harper said, “ Our prayers are certainly with our student driver involved
in the accident. We are awaiting more details on the student’s condition. We are thankful that no
one else involved was injured.”
