The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office has just released a report of an armed robbery that took place at Kangaroo Express on Glade Road in Acworth last Saturday morning.

A witness stated he walked in the store at around 4:30 and did not see anyone around. He then heard a yell for help, so he opened the door next to the cashier area and saw a black male choking a female. He immediately ran to the front door and the suspect ran after him. The witness stated he hit the suspect in the face and struggled with him until the suspect knocked the witness to the floor. The witness got up and ran outside yelling for help as the suspect ran north on Glade Road. He said the black male was wearing a white T-shirt, white hat, dark backpack, and khaki shorts.

Another witness stated he was outside pumping gas when he saw the suspect running across the street.

The female victim stated she was near the coffee machine at around 4:15 when the suspect walked in the store, pointed a black pistol at her, and told her to give him all of her money. After going to the register and giving him some cash, he had her go in the back room where he proceeded to choke and assault her. The suspect then said he was going to tie her up and started choking her again when she heard the first witness and yelled help, causing the suspect to run out. She said the black male was in his early 20s, had half of his face covered, had a tattoo on his arm, and was tall and skinny.

The suspect was observed on video at the end of the building watching the female taking out the garbage prior to committing the robbery.
