CARTERSVILLE—Rep. Christian Coomer, (R-14, Adairsville, Cartersville, and Rome), announced Congressman-elect Barry Loudermilk will be the special invited guest and host of Rep. Coomer’s Fifth Annual Salute to Veterans Fundraiser on October 30 at Red Top Mountain State Park’s Shelter #2 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Last year’s fundraiser was hosted by Brigadier General John F. King and hundreds of supporters donated their time and money to make the event exciting and successful.

The fundraiser features participation with local veterans’ and military groups including Vietnam Veterans of Bartow County, Patriot Guard Riders, Etowah Valley Young Marines, and others.  Attendees are invited to make a contribution at the door to benefit those and other local veteran and military-related groups.

Rep. Coomer, who sponsors the event in cooperation with the Georgia Veterans’ Association, said, “Last year’s event was an amazing success.  We were so happy to give to organizations that represent those who have given so much to us.  As a veteran, from a family of veterans, I recognize the importance of passing on to our children the respect for service and sacrifice.  That’s why we put this together every year and invite everybody in our community to participate—to show a token of gratitude for people we can never really repay.”

Rep. Christian Coomer serves the 14th House District in the Georgia General Assembly.  A member of the House of Representatives elected in 2010, Rep. Coomer was appointed Administration Floor Leader by Governor Nathan Deal in 2012.  Rep. Coomer, a graduate of UGA and Lee University, also operates a sole practice law firm in Cartersville and is a Major in the Georgia Air National Guard.
