Chief Thomas N. Culpepper of the Cartersville Police Department has advised that investigators of the department have made several arrests in conjunction with recent entering auto and burglary incidents. Officers made contact with five subjects on Wednesday at the Courtesy Inn located at 2335 Highway 411 in Cartersville. While officers detained the suspects and secured the room, a search warrant was obtained and executed.

Ultimately, the five suspects were arrested. All of the suspects were charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent, and Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Crime. Two suspects were charged with additional charges.

The suspects arrested were Joseph Bradley Payne, age 28 of Kingston; Bessie Mae Lowe, age 26 of Cartersville; Ashley Dawn Haynes, age 25 of Cartersville (also charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property); Brandon Chase Godfrey, age 28 of Cartersville; and Nathan Emery Howard, age 26 of Cartersville (also charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property and Obstruction of Officers)

Illegal narcotics and a gun were recovered from the room as well.

During the course of this entire investigation, information on the suspects were developed that lead to the execution of other search warrants which resulted in the seizure of another stolen gun (taken from Polk County), a large assortment of jewelry, additional drugs, and other items of property and evidence relating to active motor vehicle thefts, burglaries, and entering autos in Cartersville, Bartow County, Floyd County, Polk County, Kennesaw and other areas yet to be determined.

The investigation is continuing.
