A Cartersville woman had to be rescued after being trapped in a massive crash on I-75 in Woodstock Tuesday morning.

Georgia State Patrol told 11 Alive in Atlanta that a 2014 Hyundai Elantra was traveling south on I-75 at exit 277 before eight o’clock when it crashed into a semi-trailer truck that was parked on the right shoulder of the roadway.

First responders worked over an hour to free 60-year-old Denise Hopson of Cartersville, who was trapped inside her crushed car after getting caught under the truck. Lanes were blocked as Hopson was flown by an air ambulance to Kennestone Hospital. A Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said that Hopson was in stable condition.

The driver of the truck was identified as 58-year-old Colman Prendergast of Lauderhill, Florida. GSP stated that charges are pending.
