Northwest Whitfield limited Woodland to four hits and struck out five as the visiting Lady Bruins shutout the Lady Cats 4-0 Monday night.

Jordan Duck, Hope Schultz, and Madi Bentley shared the pitching duties for Woodland.

Bella Carnes, Ansley Evans, Caroline Higdon, and Skylar Chappell had the Woodland hits.

Woodland is now 6-10 on the season and 3-6 in region play.

 

Carrollton broke open a 4-3 game with eight runs in the middle innings Monday night to defeat visiting Cass, 13-5.

Carrollton out hit Cass fourteen to six.

Sarah Moore had two hits including a double and one RBI for Cass. Taylor Gibson and Alexia Najarro both added a double.

Cass is now 4-17 on the season and 0-9 in region play.

 

Mason Barnett, a junior pitcher for the Cartersville baseball team, has decided to join teammates Anthony Seigler and Devin Warner at Auburn. Barnett committed to the Tigers over the weekend and officially made the announcement of the verbal commitment on Monday.

 

Two former high school stars learned their fates concerning injuries on Monday. Current Alabama tight end and former Cartersville star Miller Forristall learned that he would be out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL, an injury he suffered against Colorado State on Saturday

Current Atlanta Falcon and former Adairsville Tiger Vic Beasley learned that he would miss a month of action with a torn hamstring, an injury he suffered in the game Sunday night against Green Bay.
