The Woodland boys basketball team also fell to Kell Wednesday night by a score of 98-66 to drop to 1-13 on the season and 0-9 in region play. Justice Carter scored a game-high 27 points for the Wildcats, but five Kell players had point totals in the double digits. The Longhorns led 25-9 after one quarter and 54-31 at the half to cruise to a victory.

 

The Woodland Lady Wildcats basketball team fell to Kell by a score of 43-15 Wednesday night to drop to 0-13 on the season and 0-8 in region play. The Lady Cats found themselves down by 18 at the half, but the bigger story was that the team could only muster three first-half points. Lexie Robinson led the Wildcats with five points and nine rebounds, while Carli Clymer had four points and six rebounds.

 

The Georgia Highlands Chargers and the Chattahoochee Tech Golden Eagles squared off at LakePoint in Emerson Wednesday night for an intra-county and GCAA conference game. The Chargers emerged victorious, beating the Golden Eagles 87-69. The Chargers led the Eagles at the break, but the bigger story was Georgia Highlands outrebounding Chattahoochee Tech 62-42 and forcing 21 turnovers. The Chargers improved to 18-0 on the season and 5-0 in conference play, while the Golden Eagles fell to 13-3 on the season and 1-1 in conference play.

 

The Georgia Highlands Lady Chargers also grabbed a win over the Chattahoochee Tech Lady Golden Eagles by a score of 61-58. Late in the game, Georgia Highlands’ Kanisha Tharpe got a huge offensive rebound and put it back in to tie the game at 55 with 38 seconds remaining. Chattahoochee Tech turned the ball over and GHC’s D’Andre Pringle drove the lane and hit the go-ahead basket to make it 57-55. GHC hit their free throws down the stretch to secure the win. Georgia Highlands moves to 8-12 on the season and 3-1 in conference play, while Chattahoochee Tech falls to 14-3 on the season and 0-2 in conference play.
