Behind another balanced scoring attack with five different players in double digits the Georgia Highlands Chargers men’s basketball team rolled to a 97-55 conference win over Atlanta Metro College. The win was 50th in a row, dating back to 2015, for the Chargers. Georgia Highlands got out of the gate early with its high-pressure defense that caused havoc all night for the Trailblazers, forcing 25 turnovers. GHC led at the half 60-23 and its largest lead of the night was 42 points.

The Chargers were led by Kyvon Davenport’s double – double, 22 points and 10 rebounds, Ty Cockfield with 20 points, Antonio Wade with 15 points, Rico Bonds with 14 points, and D’ Andre Bernard with 13. The Chargers are now 16-0 on the season and 3-0 in conference play.

The Georgia Highlands women’s basketball also picked up a win over Atlanta Metro Wednesday by a score of 79-66. The Lady Chargers are now 7-11 on the season and 2-0 in conference play. The Lady Chargers started the fourth and final period with a pressing defense that caused 17 turnovers on the night for the Lady Trailblazers, and that was enough to seal the win. GHC was led by Pam Diokpara with 28 points and 19 rebounds, Briana Davis with 13 points, and Maria Crider and Taylor Harris with 10 points each.
