The Cartersville boys team beat Chapel Hill 83-57, after beating Sandy Creek 94-88 to grab the second seed in the region on Friday. Head coach Mike Tobin was worried about a letdown, but Cartersville was ready for the task at hand. Jaylon Pugh had a big game putting up 22 points, seven rebound and five assists for the Canes, while T.J. Horton had 13 points and 11 rebounds. The Canes are now 16-4 on the season and 7-2 in region play.

The Adairsville boys picked up a loss to Christian Heritage on Saturday, with a 61-42 loss. Adairsville is now 12-10 on the season.

After an upset win over Sandy Creek on Friday, the Cartersville Lady Canes could not keep the momentum going, as they fell to Chapel Hill 57-38 on Saturday. The Lady Canes trailed 32-14 at the half. Madison McKinney had 13 points and six rebounds in the contest. Cartersville is now 8-13 on the season and 2-7 in region play.

The Adairsville girls fell to Christian Heritage Saturday 61-42. The Lady Tigers led by a score of 13-6 after one quarter and went into halftime tied at 23. Adairsville was then outscored 38-19 in the second half. Nakiyah Washington led the Lady Tigers with 19 points in the contest.The Lady Tigers are now 7-16 on the season.

The Woodland boys lost another close contest on Saturday, as they fell to Rockmart 53-48. Woodland drops to 1-19 on the season.

The Woodland Lady Cats fell to Rockmart Saturday by a score of 38-32. Woodland entered the final period with a 25-24 lead after outscoring Rockmart 18-10 in the third quarter but was then outscored 14-7 in the following quarter. Lexie Robinson had 19 points in the contest, while Madgie Robinson added 10. The Woodland girls are now 1-19 on the season.
