The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has reported that an arrest warrant obtained this week highlights new details in the sexual assault allegations against a local nurse at a Sandy Springs medical center.

33-year-old Michael Morgan of Adairsville turned himself into the Fulton County Jail on May 12th.

He faces charges of sexual battery and sexual assault for allegedly groping at least two women at the center while they were under anesthesia.

The warrant says Morgan admitted to taking a “used plunger of Propofol” from a medical trash pile and adding a saline flush to the Propofol plunger so he could keep a woman under sedation while he fondled her at the Northern Crescent Endoscopy Center.

Propofol is an anesthetic that can cause relaxation and sleepiness, meant to be used before and during surgeries and other medical procedures. An overdose of the drug is what led to the death of pop star Michael Jackson in 2009.

According to a police report, two of Morgan’s pastors from a Jehovah’s Witness Hall told Sandy Springs police they were given information that Morgan had sexually assaulted several women while they were under anesthesia. The pastors told police Morgan had looked at these women inappropriately, lifted their bras, and touched their breasts. The report notes that both pastors were being careful in explaining how they came about the information. The alleged assaults took place between February and April of this year, police said.

A preliminary hearing is set for Morgan on Friday morning at 9:30. Anyone with additional information regarding this case is asked to contact Detective William Johnson at 770-551-3314.
