WBHF has obtained copies of the criminal arrest warrants issued for 32-year-old Bobbie Prather in connection with the drowning death of a three-year-old child at a residence on Canter Lane in Cartersville between Sunday night and Monday afternoon.

She was charged with four counts of cruelty to children in the first degree. This is based on investigators saying Prather willfully deprived a three-year-old, four-year-old, and two one-year-olds of necessary sustenance to the extent that their health or well-being was jeopardized. The investigation says she left them unsupervised with no safety, security, food, or any other necessary functions for them for more than 14 hours.

Prather was also charged with murder during the commission of a felony. This is based on investigators saying she knowingly and intentionally during the commission of a felony caused the death of the three-year-old by willfully depriving the child of safety and security with supervision for more than 14 hours. The investigation says her actions caused the death of the child when he fell into a pool and had no supervision for such a period of time.

Investigators were called to the residence at 1:33 Monday afternoon when the child was found in the pool unresponsive. The child was pronounced deceased after life-saving attempts were unsuccessful. The three other children in the home were taken into protective custody.

Bartow County Sheriff’s Office investigators continue to work on this active case with assistance from the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services. No further information is available at this time.
