Bartow County EMS along with numerous other County agencies responded to a multiple vehicle accident on I-75 northbound at the Allatoona lake bridge. The accident occurred at 1:42pm Sunday afternoon. The accident involved numerous passenger cars and tractor trailers which resulted in the Interstate being closed northbound for an extended time. The crews where having difficulty getting to the accident scene due to vehicles blocking the emergency lanes northbound. Bartow County EMS had 4 units respond due to the number of injured people on the scene. Once on the scene the crews began to evaluate all the individuals involved. A total of 10 patient where transported to hospitals in the area. Two patient transported to Kennestone hospital and eight patient transported to Cartersville Medical Center. All injuries appear to be non life threatening.
