ATLANTA — The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) will help Mohawk Industries recruit 90 workers for the company’s manufacturing facilities in Gordon County.

The recruitment will be held Friday, Jan. 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Suite 200 of the Agricultural Services Center, 1282 Highway 53 Spur, S. W., in Calhoun. Staff from the GDOL’s Rome Career Center will screen the applicants prior to the interviews by the company.

The company is recruiting experienced tufting machine operators and mechanics and electronic technicians, along with sergers and sewing machine operators.

Due to U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, applicants must be at least 18 years old. They must also have skills in basic mathematics and at least one year of work experience in an industrial work environment.

The company will conduct a background check and drug-screening test on selected applicants.

Applicants must complete a company application, be prepared to interview, and dress appropriately to improve their opportunities for employment.
