The Georgia Department of Transportation is advising motorists in Bartow County of a traffic shift on State Route 140 at its intersection with U.S. Route 41 scheduled for Tuesday, May 30th.

Traffic will be shifted to the newly constructed lanes to allow for work on the existing lanes on SR 140, beginning at US 41 and extending to west of Oothkalooga Creek. This traffic shift will stay in place until the work on the existing lanes is complete. It is weather permitting and subject to change.

This traffic shift is part of a 0.995-mile project of widening and construction on SR 140 that begins west of Oothkalooga Creek and ends at US 41. The project also includes the reconstruction of the bridge on SR 140 over Oothkalooga Creek. Work on this project began late June 2015. It is about 70% complete. The entire project is expected to be completed by the end of May 2018, at a construction cost of $11,944,259.
