Press Release: The Cartersville City School Board met in regular session. As a result of School Board President Linda Benton’s retirement, Vice President Kelley Dial automatically became School Board President, leaving the Vice President position vacant. Board Member Travis Popham was elected to become the new School Board Vice President.
The Board approved several bids: Manning Brothers Food Service Equipment Company for the elementary school narrow pass-thrus in the amount of $26,211.64, low bid specified; Student Group Tours, Clermont, FL, was approved FL in the amount of $112,543.00, lowest and best bid, for the CMS & CHS Bands to perform at Disney World, Orlando,FL. The Board also approved to rescind the bid for band instruments previously approved on Monday, July 10, 2017 and approved Taylor Music of Aberdeen, South Dakota in the amount of $112,543.00 for instruments.
Under consent items, the Board approved the Superintendent’s recommendation to ratify quote for portable grand stands for Cartersville High School by Gulf Coast Sports, Crystal River, FL low quote as specified in the amount of $35,500.00. Also one Surplus item was approved.

IHF(6B)-1-Graduation Requirements were approved after being on the table for thirty (30) days. The Board also approved new Policy GBN-Professional Personnel Termination.
