Thirty two year-old Bobbie Jessica Prather  was arrested in connection with the drowning death of a three-year-old child at a residence on Canter Lane in Cartersville between Sunday night and Monday afternoon.  According to law enforcement officials neighbors made the calls to 911, they do not believe Prather’s that voice is on the tapes.

Rescue officials were called to the residence at 1:33 Sunday afternoon when the child was found in the pool unresponsive. The child was pronounced deceased after life-saving attempts were unsuccessful. The three other children in the home were taken into protective custody.

Prather was charged with murder during the commission of a felony. This is based on investigators saying she knowingly and intentionally during the commission of a felony caused the death of the three-year-old by willfully depriving the child of safety and security with supervision for more than 14 hours. The investigation says her actions caused the death of the child when he fell into a pool and had no supervision for such a period of time.

Prather was charged with four counts of cruelty to children in the first degree.  According to the warrant Prather willfully deprived a three-year-old, four-year-old, and one year old twins of necessary sustenance to the extent that their health or well-being was jeopardized. The investigation says she left them unsupervised with no safety, security, food, or any other necessary functions for them for more than 14 hours.

The 911 calls were released Wednesday afternoon to the media.

Bartow County Sheriff’s Office investigators continue to work on this active case with assistance from the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services. No further information is available at this time.
