BILOXI, MS – The Bartow County Championship Rodeo was awarded one of the 2016 Rodeo of the Year awards by the Professional Cowboy Association (PCA) at an awards ceremony at the Island View Casino on Saturday, January 21st, 2017, held in conjunction with the Professional Cowboy Association Finals Rodeo. The banquet was introduced by saying, “today we recognize some of the best rodeos held in the Southeast”.
This honor represents an extraordinary award for the Bartow County Championship Rodeo. The designation by the PCA is an honored prize in the sport of rodeo.
The award was received by Danny and Bridgett Phillips, owners of Phillips Rodeo Productions. The Phillips Family have been producing the rodeo in Cartersville, Ga since 1981. The 37th Bartow County Championship Rodeo will take on July 14-15, 2017 at the Bartow County Saddle Club Covered Arena.
Danny Phillips, owner commented “We are thankful for loyal sponsors, the wonderful community of Bartow County and the many great rodeo fans from Georgia and surrounding states for attending and supporting our rodeo all these years.”
The rodeo is also a major fundraiser for the Bartow County Saddle Club who provides shoes for the disadvantaged in Bartow County; sponsor families at Christmas; and have hosted several benefits cancer rides and shows each year.
