Press Release

A truck loaded with water will arrive early this week in Wenatchee, Washington. Columbia Distributing, the local Anheuser-Busch distributor, is working with the American Red Cross and Chelan County Public Works to distribute the water.

“Firefighters and relief workers are in need of safe, clean drinking water, and Anheuser-Busch is in a unique position to produce and ship emergency drinking water,” said Peter Kraemer, vice president of Supply for Anheuser-Busch. “Our local distributors help identify those communities most in need, and work with relief organizations such as the American Red Cross to make sure the water gets where it’s needed.”

Since 1988, Anheuser-Busch has donated more than 73 million cans of emergency drinking water following natural and other disasters.

Helping communities cope with disasters has been an Anheuser-Busch tradition since 1906 when Adolphus Busch made a donation to the Red Cross for victims of the San Francisco earthquake.  Today, in addition to providing monetary support as a member of the Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program, Anheuser-Busch packages emergency drinking water and works with the Red Cross and other emergency relief organizations for distribution to those in need.
