The Adairsville Tigers (2-3, 2-0) pushed their winning streak to two as they beat Murray County (3-2, 0-2) by a score of 35-21 on Friday night.

The first quarter saw neither team score, but Adairsville got the party started in the second quarter with a Travon Branch 53-yard touchdown run with 11:40 left to give the Tigers a 7-0 lead. Murray County would answer right back with a touchdown run of its own to bring it even with Adairsville at 7. The Tigers answered back with QB Rodger Redd taking the ball 16 yards into the endzone with 5:52 left in the second quarter to once again give Adairsville a lead. North Murray would score on its next possession with 3:58 left in the second quarter, as Giovanni Chavez would take the ball 15 yards in for the touchdown. In 12 minutes, both teams would combine for 28 points after being scoreless in the first quarter.

The third quarter saw Adairsville score first with a 1-yard touchdown run from Mason Boswell to give the Tigers a 21-14 lead with 7:53 left in the quarter. Rodger Redd would find Chad Lowerey with 4:01 left in the third quarter for a 25-yard touchdown pass to stretch Adairsville’s lead to 14. The Tigers would put seven more points on the board in the fourth quarter with 2:22 left in the game, as Redd would find Branch from 38-yards to give Adairsville a 35-14 lead. North Murray would score once more in the fourth quarter, but it would be too little, too late as Adairsville would capture its second win of the season.

Adairsville has a bye week next week but has a tough sub-region opponent on October 7th as it takes on Calhoun on the road at 7:30 PM.
