The Adairsville Tigers (6-4, 4-3) defeated the Lakeview Fort-Oglethorpe Warriors on the road on Friday night by a score of 34-21.

The win assured Adairsville of its spot in postseason play with the opponent still to be announced.

Adairsville fell behind early after a 1-yard touchdown run by Nathan Williams, but Travon Branch would have little of that. On Adairsville’s next possession, the speedster would run 78 yards into the end zone, but after a missed PAT Adairsville would still trail 7-6.

Adairsville had some leftover Halloween tricks up its sleeve as it would recover an onside kick to set up shop for another score. Following a long touchdown pass from Cody Henderson to Ethan Belcher, Mason Boswell would punch the ball into the end zone and convert the 2-point conversion to Christian Steele to give Adairsville a 14-7 lead.

Boswell would score again in the second quarter on a 35-yard touchdown run to give Adairsville a 21-7 lead, but LFO would throw a touchdown pass with time expiring to cut into the first half lead 21-14.

The Warriors would score in the third quarter to tie the game up a 21, but all momentum changed when Boswell converted a 4th and 2 in Adairsville territory and ended up at the Warriors 30-yard line.

Adairsville would score on the 9-play 92-yard drive to grab a 28-21 lead and would score again on a Daylon Bailey 5-yard speed sweep to end the game at 34-21.

Adairsville will start its playoff run next week with a road game against an opponent that is TBA next Friday at 7:30. You can hear that game on Bartow Sports Zone as the Johnny’s New York Style Pizza Bartow County Game of the Week.
